I took a lost closing SHLD. I cut lost for that company which I don't really know what is going on. They issued rights, shortly after issuing bonds and lots of funny new symbols appearing in my account. They are liquidating their assets generating cash to repay debt. Lost about 6K.
I could have hold on and wait for the better, but would the better ever come? Cutting lost is something I got pretty good at. Humans naturally instinct is to hold on to your loses and quickly take profit. That's how so so so many people play the stock market lose. Human instinct is to risk so much and hoping for little gains. You do the maths ya.
In both life and investing, cutting lost is something constantly I have to remind myself. Holding on to something which tears you apart, which makes you sleep uneasy, which causes you pain physically or mentally is just nonsensical. The emotional pull, a force so strong it's so hard to overcome. However once you break that barrier.. you come out stronger, confident, knowing your selfworth and mostly knowing what you deserve. Life is just too short for such crap.
Thanks to my bro for bringing me eat that wonderful pork knuckles / draft beer / tea =) A very manly dinner, heehee. I had sushi yesterday, their standard for fish sushi is actually better then my FAV sushi place, however it's only the fish sushi that is better. Will definately go back, but just for the fish only.
