2) Woman (No offense ladies)
In no particular order: Renault Kangoo (Company Car), Volvo XC60(Mum's Car) & Honda S2000(Mine). Guess which is which?
Volvo XC60. Yes I'm not kidding you. How much do you value your life? Is it worth $60K or $200K or much much much more. This car is built like a tank and safety features to make me go reallly mad. This car auto slams it's brakes when I go near car park barriers. I'm just too impatient to wait 1M away from the barrier. This car has heavy doors as they are reinforced. 2 rear impact bumpers... and list just goes on and on and on. As you are seated high, this car is pretty easy to drive.
The Woman One
Honda S2000. This car is a legend. 1st produced in 1999, it when on for production all the way till 2009. Until now(15 years later), it is still the MOST powerful 4 Cylinder NA engine producing 240BHP. Hand built, FR drive. This car was designed with passion to celebrate Honda's 50th Anniversary and hand built with love.
I have driven many cars, lambo/ferrari/rx7/370z/hummer/x6/lorries/swift/hyundai etc..., BUT somehow.. just somehow I find this car hardest to gauge. It's just so unexplainable, just like a woman, cough*. When I park this car, I have to hug the corner so people won't open their door and slam into my precious. I can't parallel park this car as almost definitely, the car in-front will reverse into my car as my hood is so long and short. The same problem my dad had with his RX7. It's very stressful to keep worrying. I worry about people using a pen knife to cut my fabric roof thus I installed a 24 hrs camera into my car. ARGH!!!!
BUT by being woman like, they give you the greatest joy. It is just awesome to look at. Evergreen design, the curves, you could stare at it for hours at every angle and just admire. Being inside, it too feels good like a woman, cough* The panels and buttons are all angled towards you. Driving position is same as an F1 car of the 90's. The feedback the car gives you is so precise. Whatever feelings you are having at that moment, driving at night with the top down makes me feel what life should be all about. The previous owner installed a dammm expensive sound system to make the whole experience even better. Just yesterday after having a great time at my usual salon (2hrs+), dinner and great quality time, driving in this car back really just made the day complete. No words can describe this feeling. It's just so damm awesome.
Renault Kangoo. This is the car, for some unknown reason, I have the 3 car keys infront of me, unconsciously I will pick the van time and time again. I don't need to worry someone slamming their door onto mine, at most I will use my door to slam them back. I can just anyhow park head in, I can park in loading bays, I can park so near others with them fearing for their own cars.
This car looks like crap, even if I left my doors unlock, nobody would even take a second look. I do it very often because I bring my dog out and I need to leave him in the car for a while. I will wind down all windows and leave car unlock for safety reasons like fire etc.... and also for cool air to get it.
By structure design, it is has been proven with many vans, the rectangle shape is a very strong shape. My friend's van got hit really bad by a BMW. His bumper sustained a little little dent while the BMW radiator leaked and bumper dropped. Yea so it's definately really safe. A sweet friend of mine loves it when I drive the van as I'm unable to drive fast. 40 litres get me 800+ km all the time. Awesomely CHEAP! If I include depreciation + road tax + fuel + insurance, it's only about $400 a month!!! that's peanuts for singapore standards. It's cheap, safe and carefree.
To conclude my blog post and thoughts, I'm pretty lucky and grateful to be even be able to write about such experience. People may think (in sg) the Kangoo got (no face value). I had it for 5 years. After owning one, it's pretty hard never to own it again.
